Starting out as a coach for 'Playball Central', Coach Adam found a passion for Playball and in 2010 started 'Playball Auckland City'. Coach Adam has a strong football background which includes being a youth player and a professional footballer in England, playing for the Tranmere Rovers F.C, before moving to New Zealand to play for the Auckland City F.C. Coach Adam brought with him, and continues to bring with him, his rich knowledge and experience from within the sporting environment. He and his team (all with some sort of a sporting background) have a strong passion for the specialised sport coaching program - and its promotion of getting, and keeping, children active - and enjoy seeing its success among the children of the 'Playball Auckland City' franchise.

Hello, I’m Liam Little; Dunedin Area Manager.

I am passionate about sport and fitness. When I was 16 I moved to Scotland to play football professionally. Since then I have played football for Otago United, New Zealand in the Under 23 Olympic Team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Central United, Waitakere City and Auckland City football clubs in Auckland. In December 2011 I was part of the team that went to the World Club Championships in Japan. I am also a qualified personal trainer aswell as a coaching for FootballSouth.

I really want to be part of giving children similar opportunities to enjoy sport.  I want to see children enjoying being physically active, playing and gaining the confidence they need to get involved in sport.

I first got interested in Playball when my soccer team mates in Auckland talked about how great it is for children as many of them are Playball Coaches. So I decided to give it a go, and once I did, I was hooked. It is fantastic to work with children and assist them to develop basic sport and movement skills. Playball skills will boost their confidence and benefit them throughout their lives. For me, it is not about working with highly talented children, but about growing talent in all children by giving them the opportunity. Aptitude for sport is possible in any child who is given the chance to find out how enjoyable sport can be.

I like Playball because it is highly directed, structured, and is based on a proven model of learning. It can provide specialist individual tuition to any child who joins in, and is offered by highly trained coaches, like myself who love sport.

I hope Playball will capture your interest as much as it has mine.
